City Theatrical Mainframe | Source Four 5°

City Theatrical Mainframes are built for lighting departments that burn through color frames on every show. Crews can frame the color for an entire production with lightweight fiber, finish each one in moments, and discard them at strike. That trims freight weight on touring packages, lowers consumables spend for theatre and dance, and removes the burden of tracking reusable frames on one-off corporate and event work.

The family is offered in versions matched to different fixture types, so a rig can be framed to suit the instruments actually hung. Fiber stock performs best in hard edge ellipsoidals. Hot wash luminaires can dry the material and cause cracking, so plan around that when they appear in the plot. Mainframes arrive lavender, and the manufacturer does not guarantee the exact shade.

For production electricians and gel prep crews, the value is predictability: a flameproof, low-cost frame that goes out with the color and leaves the rig when the run ends. It suits shops that cut and frame color in volume ahead of load-in.
