City Theatrical 2387 125mm Mainframe Flameproof Fiber Color Frame

Mainframes are made for lighting departments that go through color constantly and want a frame that is not worth saving. Because each one is disposable, a touring electrician, rental shop, or theatrical production can prep an entire color plot without adding much weight to the truck or much cost to the budget. The fiber material will not burn, which matters for any frame sitting in front of a hot fixture.

Fit and fixture choice still matter. Some hot wash lights will dry the material and cause it to crack, so this frame performs best in hard edge ellipsoidals such as the Source Four. Use it where the fixture type suits the material and the frame is expected to be thrown away after the show. Check the manufacturer size chart against your fixture before ordering, since the Mainframe line covers many frame sizes and styles, from small strip and Inkie styles to large 245mm formats.

Frames ship in lavender, though City Theatrical cannot guarantee the exact color provided. For designers and production electricians who want a low-cost way to get color into the rig, it is a practical alternative to higher priced frame options.
