City Theatrical 2391 185mm Mainframe Disposable Fiber Color Frame

Mainframes are built for lighting departments, rental shops, and production electricians who prep color for entire shows and do not want to manage reusable frames. Because each frame is a throwaway fiber piece, a large color order goes from cut sheets to hung fixtures with less weight in the road case and less money tied up in hardware. That matters on touring packages, theatrical productions, corporate events, and any rig where hundreds of frames get loaded in and struck on a tight schedule.

This size is one of a broad Mainframe range covering round, strip, and PAR style openings, so one vendor can cover most of a fixture inventory. The fiber stock has limits: some hot wash lights will dry it out and cause cracking, so these frames perform best in hard edge ellipsoidals such as Source Four units.

Mainframes are lavender, though the manufacturer cannot guarantee the shade supplied. Treat it as a consumable line item and reorder per production rather than tracking frames through strike and return.
