- Flameproof Fiberboard Construction Will Not Burn Near Hot Lamp Housings
- Single Heavy-Duty Staple Closure Secures The Frame Quickly
- Disposable Lightweight Design Keeps Shipping Weight And Cost Low
- Available In A Wide Range Of Sizes To Cover Many Fixture Types
- Performs Best In Hard Edge Ellipsoidals Such As Source Four Fixtures
Mainframes are built for lighting departments, rental shops, and touring crews that go through a lot of color and need a frame that does not add to the load. Because the frames weigh so little and cost so little, outfitting every fixture in a production becomes a small line item instead of a stack of frames to ship, track, and reclaim at strike.
This size sits within a larger Mainframe range that covers many fixture types, so one supplier can cover a rig with mixed instruments. The fiber material will not burn, which matters near hot lamp housings, though some hot wash lights can dry it out and crack it. Best results come with hard edge ellipsoidals such as the Source Four, so match the frame to the fixture and lamp type before buying in volume.
Mainframes ship in a lavender color, and City Theatrical does not guarantee the shade provided, so treat them as a utility holder rather than a color-matched part of the look. For theatrical productions, touring, and rental work, they are a practical, low-commitment alternative to frames you have to maintain.
