City Theatrical 2440 Short Top Hat For Source Four Fixtures

Top hats address two recurring problems in entertainment lighting: spill and glare. When fixture optics are marginal or lenses are poorly maintained, light can land in the house or on scenery. Fitting a top hat at the lens end tightens that edge, and it also narrows the angle from which the bright lamp is visible to audience members and camera operators.

This short version is built for lighting designers, production electricians, and rental shops running Source Four, Strand SL, Shakespeare, and Pacific fixtures with lens tubes from 19 to 50 degrees. It suits theatre, touring, corporate staging, and broadcast sets where clean edges and clean sightlines matter. It also gives you a quick adjustment during focus and tech rehearsals when spill shows up on a wall or proscenium, without swapping fixtures or reworking the rig.

For ordering, add a W to the catalog number for white inside and outside, or call for pricing on white outside with a black flocked interior. Use in 70 degree or 90 degree lens tubes is not recommended because extreme loss of light occurs. Call City Theatrical for flocking details and pricing.
