City Theatrical 2441 Short Half Top Hat For Source Four Fixtures

Built for lighting designers, production electricians, and rental shops running Source Four, Strand SL, Shakespeare, and Pacific fixtures in the 19-50 degree range. It solves a common sightline problem in theatrical and live event rigs: a lamp that is visible from the house. A full top hat shields the source but lights up its own interior, and that bright ring becomes what the audience notices. A half top hat turned with its full side toward the viewer removes that bright interior, so the fixture stops reading as a light source.

This short version sits alongside the standard-length model for the same fixture family, giving designers a choice of how much depth the accessory adds at the front of the unit. It fits theater, touring, corporate, and broadcast positions where sightlines and spill control matter. Match it to the right lens tube, since City Theatrical advises against using any accessory in 70 or 90 degree lens tubes because extreme light loss will occur.

City Theatrical positions half top hats as a better-performing option than full top hats for hiding the source, which makes this a practical add for rental inventories and permanent installs alike.
