City Theatrical 2446 245mm Half Top Hat Lighting Accessory

Lighting designers and production electricians choose half top hats when sightlines matter. A full top hat controls spill from the lens, but its interior glows brightly and pulls the eye straight to the fixture. Rotating a half top hat so the full side faces the viewer removes that glowing surface, so the instrument reads as a controlled beam instead of a visible source. That makes it a practical tool for theatre, television, and live event rigs where fixtures sit inside the audience or camera field of view.

This is the 245mm size in the City Theatrical Standard Half Top Hat range. Match the size to your fixture's lens tube or accessory slot before ordering, since each fixture model in the range has its own part number and dimensions. City Theatrical also advises against using any accessory in 70 degree or 90 degree lens tubes, where extreme light loss occurs. For standard stock sizes that do not fit your instrument, the manufacturer takes inquiries on custom work, so designers are not forced to adapt a near-fit shield on site.
