City Theatrical 2457 3" Fresnel Top Hat For Light Spill Control

Lighting designers, electricians, and production teams reach for a top hat when a fixture is throwing light where it should not go. Poor optics or a lens that has not been maintained can send errant light into the audience or onto scenery, and a top hat on the front of the lens tube gives a quick, repeatable fix without recutting a plot or refocusing the rig.

It also solves a sightline problem. Audience members and camera operators often find the bright source objectionable, and the extended barrel blocks it from direct view. That makes it a practical add-on for theaters, touring productions, corporate events, and broadcast sets where a clean stage picture matters.

City Theatrical builds these accessories specifically for entertainment lighting, so they suit rigs that see daily use. For a white finish inside and outside, add a W to the catalog number. A white exterior with a black flocked interior is also available by calling for pricing. Note that 5" long accessories are not recommended in 50° lens tubes, and no accessory is recommended in 70° or 90° tubes, because light loss will occur.
