City Theatrical 2458 SL Top Hat For Spill And Glare Control

Designers, electricians, and venue technicians reach for this accessory when a fixture throws light where it should not go. In theatres, houses of worship, and TV and film stages, errant light on the house, proscenium, or scenery pulls attention from the performance, and a bright lens visible from the seats or on camera is a distraction that focus work alone will not fix. Fitting a top hat at the front of the fixture is a fast, low-cost correction that avoids re-plotting or replacing optics.

City Theatrical Standard Top Hats are a practical choice when lenses are aging or optics are less than ideal, because they address the problem at the source instead of masking it with drape or flags. This one is made for Strand SL fixtures, and City Theatrical lists Source Four, Strand SL, Shakespeare, and Pacific fixtures in the 19 to 50 degree range for this accessory family. Keep in mind that long accessories lose light in 50 degree lens tubes, and no accessory is recommended with 70 or 90 degree tubes, so match the part to your lens before load-in.
