City Theatrical 2460 Half Top Hat For S4 SL SH PC Fixtures

Lighting designers and production electricians reach for half top hats when a clean look from the house matters as much as controlling spill. A full top hat shields the lamp, but its interior can light up brightly, which pulls the eye straight to the fixture. Rotating a half top hat with its full side toward the viewer removes that lit interior, so the unit reads as dark and the beam does the work. This City Theatrical model is sized for Source Four, Strand SL, Shakespeare, and Pacific profile fixtures with 19 to 50 degree lens tubes, which suits theaters, houses of worship, corporate stages, and touring racks built around those fixtures.

For rental shops and venue stock managers, one part number that covers several common fixture lines keeps inventory simple. Designers who have been running full hats on front light or side light positions can swap to half hats to improve sightlines without changing the fixture. Keep one limit in mind: long accessories are not recommended in 50 degree lens tubes because light loss occurs, and no accessory is recommended in 70 or 90 degree lens tubes because the loss is extreme.
