Lighting designers, theatrical electricians, and production teams specify a half top hat when the fixture itself needs to vanish from view. A full top hat shields the lamp but leaves its interior brightly lit, which pulls the eye straight to the unit. The half design solves that. Rotated so the closed side faces the viewer, the hood blocks the glow and the fixture becomes much harder to spot.

This model is sized for PAR 20 fixtures on stage sets, theatrical rigs, and installed systems where units sit in view of the audience. It gives designers a cleaner stage picture without having to reposition the fixture or rework the rig.

Compared with a standard full top hat, the half version offers better performance for sightline control. City Theatrical also supports finish changes for set or venue matching, including white versions and custom parts and finishes by request, so the accessory can blend into the surrounding scenery or architecture.
