- Front Slot Positions Gel Materials Forward Of The Fixture's Focal Plane
- Prevents Gel Burnout To Save Time And Aggravation
- Extends Gel Life To Lower Color Replacement Costs On Incandescent Fixtures
Incandescent theatrical fixtures run hot, and gel is a recurring line item on every show. This accessory is for lighting designers, production electricians, and house crews who keep re-cutting color for repertory plots, touring productions, school theaters, and corporate staging. Moving the color out of the harshest zone means fewer mid-run swaps and a smaller gel budget at the end of the season. Whether the rig lives in a repertory house or goes out on a truck, color that holds up under heat keeps looks consistent through the run.
It is built for Source Four, Strand SL, Shakespeare, and Pacific fixtures with 19-50° lens tubes, so it fits the profile inventory found in many venues and rental shops. A dedicated extender is a more practical answer to scorched color than simply buying more gel, and the steel construction suits the handling that comes with repeated hangs and strikes.
Confirm lens tube angle before ordering. The manufacturer advises against 5" long accessories in 50° lens tubes because light loss will occur, and against any accessory in 70° or 90° lens tubes because the loss is extreme.
