- Moves Gel Forward Of The Focal Plane To Extend Gel Life
- Prevents Gel Burnout To Reduce Replacement Cost And Downtime
- Front Slot Loading Keeps Gel Placement Simple At The Fixture
- Shallow Depth Adds Less Length To The Fixture Than The Standard Extender
Incandescent theatrical fixtures run hot, and gel is an expensive consumable that gets replaced more often than it should. This color extender is for lighting designers, master electricians, and production shops running rep, touring, school, and house theater rigs who want color media to last longer between swaps.
Offsetting the gel away from the lamp's hottest zone slows burnout, which keeps color consistent across a run and trims the media budget. It is sized for Source Four, Strand SL, Shakespeare, and Pacific ellipsoidals with 19-50° lens tubes, and this shallow version adds less length to the fixture than the standard 5" extender in the same series.
Check your lens tube angle before ordering. City Theatrical does not recommend any accessory in 70° or 90° lens tubes because of extreme light loss, so confirm your fixture spec first. If your rig mixes fixture types, matching extenders are offered in the same series for 6" ellipsoidals, PAR 64 units, and metric lens tube sizes.
