- Positions Gel Ahead Of The Focal Plane To Extend Gel Life
- Front Loading Gel Slot Simplifies Color Changes At The Fixture
- Hemmed Edge Fabrication Reduces Sharp Edges When Handling
- Reduced Re-Gelling Lowers Consumable Cost And Crew Time On Incandescent Rigs
- Multiple Size Options Let You Match The Extender To Your Fixture And Lens Tube
Hot incandescent fixtures chew through color media, and replacing gel on a long run adds up in both budget and crew hours. City Theatrical Color Extenders are aimed at lighting designers, production electricians, and venue technicians who want gel to last through more performances. Because the gel frame sits farther from the focal plane, the media is exposed to less of the fixture's concentrated heat.
The line is offered in several sizes, so the right extender can be matched to the barrel and lens tube configuration of each fixture type in a rig. Verify fit against your fixtures before ordering. The manufacturer advises against using any accessory in 70 degree or 90 degree lens tubes because extreme light loss will occur.
For rep plots, touring racks, and house inventory, a purpose-built extender offers a repeatable way to protect color media without replacing burned gel at every focus call. It suits theater, touring, and event lighting where color consistency matters over the length of an engagement and replacement stock is not always on hand.
