- Prevents Gel Burnout To Save Time And Aggravation On Replacements
- Front Slot Holds Gel Forward Of The Focal Plane And Away From Peak Heat
- Hemmed Edges Reduce Snags And Cuts During Handling
Gel burns out quickly in incandescent fixtures, and replacing it adds up across a rental inventory, a theater repertory plot, or a touring rig. This extender is sized for the S4 PAR and also works with S4 PARNel, S4 Zoom, and S4 14 degree units, so one accessory style covers several fixture types already in your stock.
Selection matters. City Theatrical advises against 5" long accessories in 50 degree lens tubes, and against any accessory in 70 or 90 degree lens tubes, because light loss will occur. Check the lens tube in each fixture before ordering for a whole rig, particularly on mixed plots where narrow and wide units share a color scheme.
The short version is the choice when you want gel moved away from the heat without the extra depth of the standard S4 PAR extender. It suits lighting designers, production electricians, and venue technicians who want to cut consumable spend without changing the fixtures or the gel they already specify. Shop managers stocking spares for rental or repertory work will find it a simple way to standardize on one extender per fixture type.
