Designers reach for concentric rings when a fixture needs disciplined light but the rig leaves no room for a full-length top hat. This ring is made for the S4 PAR and suits lighting designers, production electricians, and rental shops working on tightly spaced trusses and pipes, or with moving lights hung close together. Shaping the edge of the beam keeps light off neighboring fixtures, scenery, and audience sightlines, which makes it a practical choice for cleaner stage looks in theaters and other production venues.

It also earns its place as a visible design element. The ring profile gives a Svoboda-like look on fixtures that are in view of the audience, adding a deeply theatrical feel to the rig. Compared with a full top hat, it delivers comparable control while projecting far less from the fixture, which matters when clearance is tight. City Theatrical makes the same concentric ring design in sizes for other fixture types, so designers can keep a consistent look and spill control approach across a plot.
