Top hats are one of the simplest fixes on a lighting plot when a fixture throws light where it should not go. This City Theatrical top hat is made for S4 PAR round frames and gives designers and electricians a fast way to tighten the edge of a beam, keep light away from house seating and trim, and stop hot spots from landing on scenery. It also helps in broadcast and video-facing work, where a visible lamp face in frame is a problem.

The same accessory covers a spread of fixtures, which suits rental shops and venues with mixed inventory. Source Four, Strand SL, Shakespeare and Pacific units in the 19-50° range are supported, along with S4 PARNel, S4 Zoom and S4 14-degree fixtures. Crews get one familiar part to stock instead of sourcing a different accessory for each fixture family.

Check lens tube choice before ordering. City Theatrical does not recommend any accessory in 70° or 90° lens tubes because of extreme light loss, and advises against 5-inch long accessories in 50° tubes. A white version, white inside and out, is available by adding a W to the catalog number.
