City Theatrical 2492 Half Top Hat For S4 PAR Round Frame Fixtures

Lighting designers, production electricians, and venue technicians use half top hats when the goal is a clean stage picture with no visible fixture glow. A full top hat shields the lamp from view, but its interior lights up bright, which draws the eye to the very unit you want to disappear. A half top hat solves that. Rotated with its full side facing the viewer, the lit interior is no longer seen, and the fixture fades into the rig.

This unit is sized for the S4 PAR round frame style, making it a practical add for theater, concert, corporate, and house of worship rigs where PAR-based units hang within sightlines of the audience or cameras. Controlling stray light at the fixture also helps keep spill off scenery, screens, and adjacent areas, so the finished look stays focused on the performer or set piece. Designers choose it over a full top hat when visible hardware is a distraction.

City Theatrical advises against using these accessories in 70 and 90 degree lens tubes because of extreme light loss. White versions and custom finishes are available by request.
