City Theatrical Egg Crate Louvers are for lighting designers, electricians, and production teams who need tighter control over stray light at the fixture without hanging a deep accessory. They fill the same role as a top hat, but in a much shallower package, so they work where barrel space, pipe spacing, or crowded rigging makes a full-length accessory impractical. The cell structure trims off-axis light at the front of the fixture, which helps keep spill off scenery, sightlines, and audience eyes.
The range is organized by fixture fit. Different sizes match different ellipsoidal, PAR, and LED fixtures, so confirm your fixture model against the fit before ordering. Typical jobs include theatrical productions, touring and corporate shows, and installed lighting where a clean, low-profile front end matters as much as performance.
Compared with improvised flags or tape, a purpose-built louver keeps beam behavior consistent from fixture to fixture and stays put through load-in and strike. When your fixture is not on the list, City Theatrical can build custom egg crate and Hexcel louvers for any lighting fixture. Call for details.
