Lighting designers, production electricians, and rental shops running Martin MAC 2000 fixtures use a top hat to keep unwanted light from reaching the audience, camera lenses, or scenery. On a busy rig, stray light hurts contrast and sightlines, and a purpose-built accessory is a faster fix than improvised flags.

City Theatrical designs and builds its Martin accessories at its New Jersey factory, so this part is made for the fixture rather than adapted from a universal tube. Because it is sized for both the Performance and Profile versions, a rental inventory with mixed MAC 2000 units can stock a single part number instead of two.

It sits within a wider City Theatrical beam control range for Martin fixtures. A separate wash version top hat and a sound baffle are offered for the MAC 2000, so a rig with mixed units can be outfitted from one accessory source. Order the sound baffle separately, since it is sold per pair and one pair is required per fixture. Choose this one when your fixtures are the Performance or Profile models.
