Stackers are built for lighting departments, rental shops, and touring crews that carry plenty of top hats and are tired of paying for the cargo space they consume. The concept came from lighting designer Mike Baldassari, who needed a way to conserve shipping space on a European tour. On the fixture it behaves like a standard top hat, so designers and electricians get the same performance with no change in workflow.
The real advantage shows up off the rig. Cases pack tighter, road boxes hold more, and shop shelves stay organized, which matters on long tours, in busy rental inventories, and in venues with limited storage. Because the units nest without binding, crews can pull one from the stack without prying apart a wedged column.
Stackers fit Source Four, Source Four PAR, Source Four Jr, Source Four Zoom, Selecon Pacific, Altman Shakespeare, and many other fixtures. They do not fit ETC XDLT barrels, Strand SL, or Source Four 14° units, so confirm fit before ordering. A white version with no interior flocking is available at no added charge by adding a W to the catalog number. White outside with black or black flocked inside is available by calling for pricing.
