Built for lighting designers, production electricians, and rental shops that carry a lot of top hats and never have enough room for them. Standard top hats eat shelf space in the shop and cubic footage on the truck. This design came from a European tour where shipping volume was the constraint, and it solves that problem while still controlling spill and cutting glare at the front of the fixture.
This version has a shorter barrel than the full-length model of the same diameter, with the same stacking design. Crews can lift one off a stack without prying, which matters during fast load-ins and focus calls. Flocking inside the barrel reduces stray reflection, helping keep contrast clean on stage.
Confirmed fits include Source Four, Source Four PAR, Source Four Jr, Source Four Zoom, Selecon Pacific, and Altman Shakespeare, among others. It does not fit ETC XDLT barrels, Strand SL, or Source Four 14°, and may not fit every fixture, so verify your instruments before ordering. Crews stocking multiple diameters can build a consistent top hat inventory across a rig without giving up room in a road case.
