City Theatrical 2870 Stackers 12" Tapered Full Top Hat

Top hats are a staple on every rig, but a full set of large hats eats rack, shelf, and truck space quickly. This City Theatrical Stackers model is built for lighting departments, rental houses, and touring crews that carry a lot of fixtures and need to keep the load list tight. The concept came from lighting designer Mike Baldassari, who needed a way to conserve shipping space on a European tour.

On the fixture it works like a conventional full-length top hat, controlling stray light off the front of the lens, and the flocked interior reduces light reflection inside the hat. In the shop, a stack of these takes only a fraction of the room that standard hats do, so prep, cases, and returns stay organized from load-in to load-out.

Fit depends on the fixture. City Theatrical lists the Stackers line for Source Four, Source Four PAR, Source Four Jr, Source Four Zoom, Selecon Pacific, Altman Shakespeare, and many others. It does not fit ETC XDLT barrels, Strand SL, or Source Four 14° units, and may not fit every fixture, so confirm your fixture and size before ordering.
