City Theatrical 3970 Short Clear Breakaway Water Glass

Breaking glass adds drama to theatrical and feature film productions, and this short clear glass gives prop masters, stage managers, and special effects crews a stand-in for real glassware. When a script calls for a glass to be dropped, thrown, or smashed, a purpose-built breakaway keeps cast and crew clear of the danger of real glass and makes it practical to reset for every performance or take.

It is part of the City Theatrical Breakaways line manufactured by J&M Special Effects of Brooklyn, New York. The line spans bottles and glasses in many sizes and shapes, so a production can match drinkware across an entire bar or dinner scene. The short form is the smaller of two water glass sizes in the range, a good fit for tabletop and handheld action where a taller glass would read out of scale.

Plan shipping before ordering. Unlike bottles, glasses are not guaranteed to arrive intact and are sold at your risk. They ship by air on your account, and FedEx Priority Overnight is the suggested carrier. Order spares for rehearsal and run.
