DMXcat-E is built for lighting technicians, electricians, programmers, and venue maintenance teams who need to confirm that a fixture is receiving what it should before they start chasing problems in the console or the rig. It extends the DMXcat tool family from traditional DMX into networked lighting, so one unit covers conventional XLR runs and the Ethernet infrastructure that now feeds many modern fixtures.

In theatrical, studio, and broadcast environments, it supports the full cycle of work: planning a system, installing and addressing fixtures, running a show, and maintaining the plant afterward. Teams working with timecode-driven cues, audio-linked entertainment projects, or PoE-powered network devices can check signals at the point of use instead of walking back to a rack. Because the interface runs on a phone, it lives on a device crews already carry, and the app is available in seven languages.

Compared with single-purpose DMX testers, it consolidates protocol viewing, cable checks, and timecode reading into one tool, and it is positioned for the growing adoption of RDM Net in fixtures. Note that an app update takes 15 to 20 minutes, with the phone kept charged and near the hardware.
