The Clear-Com FSII-BASE-II-10 is a 1RU base station designed for production teams and broadcast facilities that need a scalable, wireless intercom backbone. Acting as the central audio engine and configuration server in a client-server architecture, the base station handles all mixing and routing logic, offloading processing from beltpacks and keeping latency low across large crews. It is suited for live broadcast, touring productions, theatrical installations, and houses of worship where reliable wireless communication across multiple zones is required.
Four analog 2-wire partyline connections allow the system to bridge existing Clear-Com or RTS partyline infrastructure, while four line-level 4-wire ports with transformer-balanced AES-72 interfaces connect seamlessly to matrix systems and program audio sources. Two FreeSpeak E1 ports, each switchable between RJ45 and SFP, give integrators flexibility in fiber or copper transceiver runs. Roaming is fully beltpack-driven, using a make-before-break handoff that crossfades audio between transceivers to maintain conversation continuity during movement across large venues.
Browser-based CCM configuration and front-panel OLED displays with soft-key encoders give engineers two independent paths to manage 12 channels, 12 groups, and up to 50 roles with point-to-point key assignments, without requiring a dedicated workstation on the network. Dedicated stage announce output and program audio input add broadcast-grade monitoring capabilities that comparable wireless intercom base stations in this class typically require an external matrix to achieve.
