The Clear-Com HCS.2.1.0 firmware package enables the HMS-4X host station to operate as the central controller for the HCS Industrial Intercom System. Designed for demanding fixed-installation environments in broadcast facilities, industrial plants, and critical infrastructure, this firmware supports a single-channel partyline connecting up to 64 IKB-12 or HRI-12 intercom stations via third-party network infrastructure through the HLI-ET2 module. Each station operates as a flush-mounted handset unit with an active cradle that automatically places the station on the partyline when the handset is lifted, reducing configuration overhead for large deployments.
Advanced call signaling covers both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint topologies, with audible buzzer alerts and visual caller identification that help operators in high-noise environments quickly identify the source of an incoming call. Cold standby redundancy protects mission-critical communications, while browser-based configuration and auto discovery simplify system commissioning and central firmware upgrades from the main station. GPI inputs at each station allow integration with external control systems, making the HCS system a practical choice for facilities requiring intercom tied into broader facility management or automation workflows. Note: this firmware requires HMS-4X with HLI-ET2 and is incompatible with HelixNet systems.
