The Clear-Com HCS Custom Handset Station series is purpose-built for demanding industrial and professional AV intercom installations where reliability and structured call management are non-negotiable. Designed as part of the HCS Industrial Intercom System, these flush-mount stations integrate into an electrical back box and connect over standard PoE Ethernet, making them well suited for broadcast facilities, stadiums, transportation hubs, and industrial production environments where hardwired partyline communication must coexist with modern IP infrastructure.
Each station operates on a single-channel partyline with an active handset cradle that automatically places the station into the partyline when the handset is lifted. Advanced call signaling supports both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint communication with audible buzzer alerts and visual caller identification, giving operators immediate situational awareness without ambiguity. The system scales to support up to 64 IKB/HRI intercom stations under a single HMS-4X host running HCS firmware, with cold standby redundancy and browser-based configuration that reduces commissioning time on large deployments.
Compared to standalone analog partyline stations, the HCS platform adds networked scalability, GPI logic integration for external call signal triggers, and centralized firmware management, all without requiring proprietary cabling infrastructure. Available in British and Metric mounting standards to match regional electrical back box formats. Requires an HS-6 handset and an HMS-4X with HLI-ET2 running HCS firmware to complete the system.
