The Countryman B2D Directional Lavalier is built for sound designers, engineers, and production teams who need to capture clean audio in acoustically challenging environments without visual compromise. Its hypercardioid polar pattern provides 6-10 dB of additional headroom over a standard omni lavalier, reducing feedback risk, ambient noise pickup, room rumble, and phase cancellation when multiple mics are in play. That performance advantage makes it a practical choice for theatre head miking, broadcast talent, live production, and any application where mic placement and isolation are critical. The B2D is also the smallest directional lavalier available, with the next comparable mic being more than twice its size, opening up placement options that are simply not possible with conventional lavs.

The detachable connector system gives rental companies, touring engineers, and multi-venue consultants the ability to pair a single mic body with a wide range of wireless transmitter packs or an XLR input, protecting the investment across changing production requirements. Aramid-reinforced cable construction handles the wear of daily production use. Vibration-isolating clips with 360-degree rotation minimize handling and clothing noise at the source, and the five available colors allow the mic to be positioned at eyeglasses, behind shirt buttons, or at other concealment points with minimal visual distraction.
