The Countryman ISOMAX 2 is built for professional sound engineers, theater production teams, and live sound engineers who need a discreet, high-performance miniature microphone that holds up under real-world conditions. Its true frequency-independent polar patterns, available in omni, cardioid, and hypercardioid, maintain consistent directionality down through the low frequencies where most competing miniature mics collapse into omni behavior. That pattern integrity translates directly into improved gain before feedback on stage and more predictable isolation in complex multi-mic environments.
Placement flexibility is a core strength of this microphone family. The ISOMAX 2 is equally at home mounted inside a musical instrument, clipped to a costume for theatrical production, hung over a stage, or hidden within a set for film and television. Its full, open frequency response and extremely low distortion even at high SPL levels allow it to capture the natural character of acoustic sources without coloring the sound. The 150 dB SPL overload threshold means it can be placed directly inside loud instruments without clipping. The reinforced cable construction is designed to survive the repeated handling and concealment demands of production environments. Connector options and color variants allow integrators and rental houses to match the mic to specific wireless transmitter systems and talent requirements without compromising on audio performance.
