The DPA Microphones 4060-OP-D-S01-002 is a boundary layer microphone engineered specifically for permanent installed audio environments where consistent, transparent speech capture is critical. Conference rooms, boardrooms, courtrooms, and teleconferencing suites are primary use cases. The boundary layer placement physics deliver a 6 dB gain of direct sound and only a 3 dB gain of diffuse sound, which translates directly into cleaner intelligibility and better rejection of room noise compared to overhead or gooseneck alternatives.

Built around CORE by DPA transducer technology, this mic draws on engineering originally developed for precision measurement and hearing aid applications. The pre-polarized omnidirectional condenser capsule handles up to 134 dB SPL peak before clipping, making it equally capable in high-energy acoustic environments. Two M5 threaded holes on the underside of the stainless steel base allow permanent table mounting, and the slim 1.6 mm cable can be routed through or along the table surface for a clean install. The slim rubber disc profile keeps the unit visually unobtrusive on any conference table surface.

The mic ships with a DAD6001 XLR adapter for direct connection to any phantom-powered mic preamp, but the MicroDot cable termination also opens the unit to DPA's full adapter ecosystem, including wireless transmitter adapters from major manufacturers. This flexibility makes the 4060-OP-D-S01-002 a practical choice for integrators who need a single mic solution that can serve both hardwired and wireless signal paths across different room configurations.
