The 4488 CORE+ Directional Headset Microphone integrates DPA's 5 mm capsule technology with CORE+ by DPA processing in a Red Dot award-winning dual-ear headset platform engineered for theatre, broadcast, house of worship, and conferencing professionals. The cardioid polar pattern efficiently suppresses distant sound sources and provides exceptional off-axis rejection, making it the right choice for live performance environments where background noise and feedback control are critical.

The bass response is optimized for linearity at 2-3 cm placement distance, producing intentional low-frequency roll-off at greater distances that enhances background noise rejection and feedback margin. The one-size-fits-all frame accommodates diverse head sizes through a comfortable 3-point grip system that secures above, below, and behind the ear. Boom length, frame size, and capsule placement adjust easily for consistent positioning, while the 90° cable guide keeps wiring out of sight during performance.

The non-reflective PVD surface treatment on the frame, boom, and capsule eliminates visual distraction under stage lighting. IP58 capsule protection withstands moisture and environmental exposure typical of touring and installed systems. The design supports cable runs up to 300 m when paired with the DAD9001 XLR adapter, providing integrators with flexible routing options in large venues.
