The Elation XLS148 Skywriter HPX M-20 is a 20W balanced RGB laser projector designed for production companies, touring acts, and rental houses that need professional-grade laser effects without the complexity typically associated with high-output fixtures. The integrated Mercury Laser Control System allows direct patching into any major lighting console using DMX, Art-Net, sACN, or RDM, eliminating the need for separate laser control software and letting programmers work in the same environment as the rest of the rig.
For live production environments, the M-20 covers a wide range of applications: medium and large indoor venues, festival stages, outdoor events, and theatrical productions where high-impact beam and aerial effects are required. With over 450 digital gobos, 11 digital prisms, 50 color macros, and 60 motion macros with adjustable speed and amplitude, the fixture offers the creative depth of a top-tier programmable lighting tool. The 1,000+ analog-mixed RGB colors allow seamless integration with conventional moving head fixtures in a unified show design.
Where the M-20 distinguishes itself from competing laser fixtures in its class is in its combination of output efficiency, build quality, and control integration. The sealed optical deck protects internal optics from wind, dust, and moisture, while an external fan array and large heat-sink surfaces maintain stable thermal performance during extended shows. At approximately 280W typical draw with a 400W peak, it delivers a strong power-to-performance ratio for venues with limited distro capacity. Every unit undergoes a 26-point quality inspection before leaving the factory, and the fixture ships with an EZ Variance Kit to assist with the required U.S. FDA Class IV variance filing.
