The ETC S4WRDCII Source 4WRD Color II is engineered for lighting directors, integrators, and facilities managers who need to modernize existing ETC Source Four inventory without replacing the full fixture. The retrofit installs in under a minute by swapping out the HPL burner assembly — a nondestructive process that in most cases preserves the fixture's existing focus. For venues running large Source Four inventories, this translates directly into reduced labor cost and zero disruption to an established rig.
Designed for theatrically demanding environments, the S4WRDCII supports DMX control via RDM-enabled RJ45 or line dimming, with a traditional LED dim curve suited to live performance, broadcast, houses of worship, and hospitality installs. Color temperatures span 3200K at 80 or 90+ CRI through 5900K at 90+ CRI, covering the full range from warm theatrical looks to accurate daylight matching. The source is rated beyond 45,000 hours to L70, eliminating the recurring cost and downtime associated with HPL lamp maintenance.
Compared to simply running Source Four fixtures on HPL, the S4WRDCII cuts typical consumption to 150W at 120V while keeping full optical compatibility — swappable lens tubes from 5 to 90 degrees, pattern projection in A or B size, and the same 79mm gate. For permanent installs in theatres, universities, exhibition centers, and meeting rooms, this combination of low operating cost, fixture preservation, and professional dimming performance makes it the practical upgrade over both new-fixture replacement and HPL continuation.
