The Hosa Pro-Conex Little Cat is purpose-built for audio engineers and system integrators who need to run multi-channel balanced audio over shielded Cat cable without introducing digital conversion, latency, or additional power requirements. By using the copper conductors inside standard shielded Ethernet cable as a transparent physical extension, the Little Cat eliminates the bulk and cost of traditional multi-channel analog snakes — a practical advantage in both touring and permanently installed environments where cable management and infrastructure reuse matter.
Installers working in commercial AV, house of worship, or corporate environments can tap into existing shielded network drops to route audio between rooms without pulling new wire. The passive design means no rack space is consumed and no configuration is required — signal passes through balanced or AES3 as-is. The female XLR fan-out variant is the stage-side or source-side unit, accepting signals from microphones, direct boxes, or instruments before sending them down the Cat cable run.
