The IPORT 72106 CONNECT PoE+ Injector is designed for AV integrators deploying IPORT CONNECT and Surface Mount products in commercial installations where the existing network switch lacks native PoE+ capability. Rather than replacing infrastructure, the injector inserts between the switch and the Cat5 cable run, converting a standard Ethernet port into a compliant IEEE 802.3at output capable of delivering up to 30W to a connected IPORT PoE+ Adapter.
For system designers working in hospitality, corporate AV, or multi-zone audio environments, the injector removes a common installation barrier. There is no need to specify or procure a PoE+ managed switch just to power endpoint devices. The integrated RJ45 input and output ports keep the wiring path clean, and the included IEC C13 to Type-A adapter covers standard North American outlets. The IEC input is also internationally compatible, making it straightforward to substitute a regional cable for international project sites.
