The JBL ASB7118 is a passive subwoofer system designed for professional studio environments where accurate bass response is critical to mixing and mastering decisions. Built around a 2269H 18-inch Differential Drive dual voice coil transducer, this unit delivers extended low-frequency information from 34 Hz upward, making it suitable for ground-stacked deployments or suspended mounting configurations.

Unlike powered systems, the ASB7118 integrates into existing studio speaker chains via external amplification, giving engineers full control over gain staging and allowing phase matching through FIR tuning parameters. The large vent area minimizes port noise while the hardwood enclosure with DuraFlex finish and 14-gauge steel grille provides isolation and mechanical stability in demanding monitoring applications.

Nominal 8-ohm impedance and system sensitivity of 96 dB-SPL at 1W make the ASB7118 compatible with standard studio power amplifiers and active crossovers, supporting both stereo and surround monitoring setups where extended bass coherence across multiple units is required.
