The K&M 118/1 Orchestra Music Stand is built for professional orchestral musicians, touring ensembles, pit orchestras, and performing arts venues that demand reliable, repeatable stability under daily use. The die-cast base and foldable leg construction eliminate wobble during performance, while the two-piece folding rod design makes transport and storage practical without sacrificing rigidity when set up. This is a stand designed for players who cannot afford movement or flex during a performance.
The prismatic V-block connector system allows the music desk to be removed and reattached quickly and securely, an advantage in multi-stand setups where desks may need to be swapped between configurations. Desk options span premium wooden surfaces in multiple finishes, allowing orchestras and venues to match house aesthetic or performer preference without compromising construction quality. Height adjustment is handled by a non-scratching locking screw, protecting both the stand finish and the surrounding floor surfaces across long-term use.
Rated at K&M's Topline quality level, the 118/1 series is positioned above entry and mid-tier stands in terms of materials and manufacturing tolerance. For music directors outfitting a full orchestra, production companies stocking stage inventory, or touring musicians who carry their own stand, this series offers the durability and finish options that professional settings require without the bulk of fixed-leg alternatives.
