The K&M 11940 orchestra music stand is designed for professional musicians, music directors, and venue operators who need a dependable, adjustable stand that holds up through daily use. The powder-coated, perforated steel desk and tube legs with cross braces provide structural rigidity on stage and in rehearsal rooms, while the two-piece folding design and compact folded footprint make it practical for touring ensembles and pit orchestras that move stands frequently.
The desk attaches and detaches without tools using a plastic quick-release lock, which is a meaningful advantage over threaded or bolt-fixed designs when stands are repositioned between sessions or shared among performers. A large wing nut controls desk tilt, allowing musicians to dial in reading angle without fumbling with small hardware. Height adjusts continuously across a broad range, accommodating seated and standing players on the same stand.
For contractors equipping rehearsal facilities, black powder coat finish integrates cleanly into professional stage environments and resists the wear that comes with regular assembly and breakdown. The folded dimensions allow multiple units to be stored or transported without dedicated cases, and the Topline quality designation places this stand in K&M's upper performance tier, distinguishing it from entry-level alternatives built with thinner steel or simpler locking mechanisms.
