The K&M 13470 is designed for percussionists performing in theaters, houses of worship, and touring productions where equipment must meet fire-safety codes without sacrificing comfort. The seat and backrest are upholstered in Trevira CS, a fabric rated for 100,000 abrasion resistance cycles and constructed from inherently fire-resistant materials. This is not a coating or treatment applied after manufacturing. The fire resistance is built into the fiber itself, making compliance straightforward for fixed installations and rental inventory alike.
Both the seat height and inclination are adjustable, with pneumatic spring adjustment delivering smooth, tool-free repositioning on the fly. The seat is rotatable, allowing a percussionist to reach the full kit without shifting the chair. A five-leg powder-coated steel base distributes weight evenly and resists tipping during dynamic playing. Quiet, slip-resistant feet protect stage floors and keep the chair planted during performance. For production teams sourcing seating that bridges ergonomic performance, durability, and code compliance, the K&M 13470 is a purpose-built solution rather than a repurposed office chair.
