The K&M 20170 is a baseline-tier tripod microphone stand built entirely from metal, targeting engineers and production teams who need reliable stands in quantity without sacrificing structural integrity. The zinc die-cast base and foldable leg socket construction provide stable footing on stage floors, in rehearsal rooms, and in fixed install environments where stands take daily abuse.
The two-piece folding rod design and collapsing legs make breakdown and transport straightforward for touring crews and rental houses managing large inventories. Clutch-style height adjustment locks securely across an extended range, giving engineers fast positioning without tools. The standard 5/8" threaded connector accepts the full range of microphone clips, adapters, and boom attachments in common use across live sound and studio applications.
Where plastic-base stands flex under load or corrode over time, the all-steel and zinc construction of the 20170 holds up through repeated use. For buyers outfitting a stage, house of worship, rehearsal facility, or rental fleet, this stand delivers the durability expected from K&M at an accessible price.
