The K&M 20811 is a professional overhead microphone stand engineered for acoustic recording scenarios that demand exceptional height. With a working range of 1,850mm to 4,400mm, it is purpose-built for capturing choir ensembles, pipe organ arrays, and large ensemble recordings where conventional stands simply cannot reach the source. The three-piece folding rod design keeps the stand manageable for transport between sessions and venues while maintaining a stable footprint through a wide-diameter tripod base and double cross-braced tube legs.
Steel construction throughout provides the mass and rigidity needed to support large-diaphragm condensers and stereo bar configurations at full extension without resonance or sag. The included extra safety ring adds a secondary lock point on the extended column, a critical detail when positioning expensive microphones at height above performers or instruments. Non-scratching locking screws on height adjustment protect cable routing and finished surfaces on stage or in live room environments. The 1/2" threaded connector on the extension tube supports direct mounting or use with the optional K&M 21231 boom arm for horizontal reach, making this stand adaptable across recording and installed-audio applications where overhead placement is required.
