The K&M 23783 is a professional-grade fishing pole boom designed for location sound recordists, broadcast engineers, and studio production teams who need a lightweight but rigid mic positioning solution. Built from high-quality carbon fiber, the pole delivers exceptional stiffness-to-weight performance, reducing operator fatigue during extended takes without sacrificing the stability that precise mic placement demands.
The four-piece folding design collapses to a compact form for transport and extends across a wide continuous range, making it equally practical on set, on stage, or in the field. Three clamping levers with an innovative locking system allow fast, secure length adjustment at any position, with reliable holding force that eliminates unintended creep under load. The internal cable channel keeps mic cables organized and out of the shot, a critical detail for video production environments where cable management affects both safety and image quality.
A 3/8" threaded connector at the business end ensures compatibility with standard microphone clips and shock mounts. Unlike aluminum boom poles in the same category, the carbon construction provides a noticeable reduction in weight at comparable rigidity levels. A carrying case is included, making this a complete, transport-ready solution for teams that move frequently between locations.
