The Lectrosonics DHu is a professional UHF handheld wireless transmitter built for engineers and production teams who need secure, high-fidelity wireless audio without compromise. Designed around a fourth-generation digital architecture, it targets demanding applications including live performance, broadcast, AV rental, and houses of worship where audio integrity and operational flexibility are non-negotiable.
Where analog transmitters introduce companding artifacts and where lesser digital designs sacrifice battery runtime, the DHu uses high-efficiency digital circuitry to extend operating time on two AA batteries while delivering 24-bit/48 kHz conversion with a DSP-controlled dual envelope limiter. AES 256-CTR encryption addresses security-critical environments such as broadcast and corporate AV without adding operational complexity. Two selectable RF output power levels let operators balance range against battery life based on venue size and RF conditions across the UHF band.
Capsule flexibility is a core differentiator. The 1.25-inch, 28-thread-pitch interface accepts Lectrosonics capsules as well as compatible heads from Shure, EV, Heil Sound, Earthworks, DPA, Telefunken, and others with an adapter, giving engineers continuity with preferred capsule choices across different transmitter platforms. A concealed control panel with membrane switches and a 2-way IR port enables fast receiver-to-transmitter setup, and a programmable external button can be configured for mute, cough, push-to-talk, talkback, or power functions to match specific workflow requirements.
