The Lectrosonics DPR-A is a wideband UHF digital plug-on transmitter built for production sound mixers, ENG crews, and broadcast engineers who need encrypted wireless audio from any standard XLR microphone or line-level source. Its purely digital architecture delivers a clean signal path, from an ultra-low-noise input amplifier with a dual envelope limiter providing over 30 dB of headroom, through a 24-bit A-D converter sampling at 48 kHz, out to a selectable 10, 25, or 50 mW RF output. Selectable phantom power at 5, 15, or 48 volts accommodates condenser microphones ranging from compact lavalieres to full-size shotguns without requiring an external adapter or power supply.
For high-security applications in government, corporate, or broadcast environments, AES 256-CTR encryption with four key policies prevents signal interception at the RF layer. The onboard recorder writes 24-bit BWF .wav files to a microSDHC card, and timecode jam sync via a 3.5 mm TRS connector with TCXO accuracy under 1 PPM simplifies dual-system audio alignment in post. The IR port pairs the unit quickly with compatible Lectrosonics receivers, while the LectroRM mobile app enables hands-free frequency and level adjustments using audible tone commands, reducing setup time on congested sets or stages.
A solid machined aluminum housing keeps the transmitter rigid under daily production use, and the external SMA antenna jack accepts AMM and AMJ series antennas for maximum operating range. Where competing plug-on transmitters offer analog or hybrid transmission, the DPR-A's fully digital signal path eliminates companding artifacts entirely, making it a direct upgrade for productions that have outgrown analog wireless systems.
