The sealed 2.5mm micro WP-series plug provides a water-resistant connection specifically engineered for Lectrosonics WM and MM400 series wireless transmitters, eliminating adapter bulk and protecting the signal path in perspiration-heavy environments.
The M152 capsule is designed around heavily suppressed mechanical noise, making it a strong choice for interview, documentary, and theatrical applications where handling artifacts and clothing rustle compromise intelligibility. A wide, flat frequency response with a 2 to 3 dB presence lift in the upper octaves adds definition to dialog without coloring the source. Placement at the center of the talker's chest, as high as the wardrobe allows, maximizes on-axis response. In windy conditions, concealment under a collar or thin layer of clothing reduces wind noise at the cost of some high-frequency extension.
This microphone is designed for sweat and water resistance, not full immersion. Productions requiring underwater or fully waterproof operation should pair a rated waterproof microphone with the WPMC-3 or WPMC-10 waterproof connection kit, both of which adapt those capsules to WM and MM400 series transmitters.
