Its machined aluminum billet housing keeps the unit rigid and field-durable without adding bulk. The TA5M input jack accepts mic and line level signals and supplies servo bias voltage for 2V and 4V electret lavaliere microphones, including microphones already wired for Lectrosonics wireless transmitters. That wiring compatibility simplifies kit consolidation for production sound mixers who run Lectrosonics wireless systems alongside the MTCR as a backup or plant recorder.
Where similarly priced compact recorders use plastic enclosures or proprietary connectors, the MTCR delivers the connector ecosystem and build standards associated with professional wireless infrastructure.
