The Lectrosonics RK172-BE is a beige-colored replacement windscreen designed specifically for the HM172 earset microphone. Production sound mixers, broadcast engineers, and theater audio teams who rely on the HM172 for talent micing need a reliable supply of matched windscreens to maintain hygiene standards between performers and to replace worn or lost pieces without interrupting workflow.

Windscreen condition directly affects vocal clarity. A degraded or missing windscreen on an earset microphone introduces breath pops and wind artifacts that are difficult to correct in post or front-of-house. Having the correct OEM replacement on hand keeps the microphone performing as intended without requiring a full mic swap. The beige finish blends with common skin tones, preserving the low-profile appearance the HM172 is selected for in theatrical, broadcast, and corporate presentation environments. Note that the FC172-BE replacement part is sold separately.
