The Lectrosonics SMWB and SMDWB wideband body pack transmitters are built for RF-demanding production environments where reliability and frequency agility are non-negotiable. Designed for theater, broadcast, film, and live event applications, these transmitters operate across multiple frequency blocks and offer channel spacing selectable in 25 or 100 kHz steps, giving RF coordinators the flexibility to navigate congested spectrum in multichannel deployments. The machined aluminum housing delivers an exceptionally rugged and lightweight package with a corrosion-resistant finish engineered to withstand salt water exposure and heavy perspiration in demanding field conditions.

The servo bias input circuitry accepts electret lavaliere mics, dynamic mics, and line level signals through a standard TA5M jack, with a DSP-controlled analog limiter ahead of the first preamp stage to protect the full audio chain from overload across a range exceeding 30 dB. Input gain is adjustable in 1 dB increments over a 44 dB range, and the adjustable low-frequency roll-off addresses subsonic content with selectable corner frequencies. Selectable output power levels allow engineers to optimize transmitter range or link security depending on the RF noise floor at the venue. The transmitters can also be used as onboard recorders to a microSDHC card, providing a local backup audio track independent of the RF link.

Where comparable miniature transmitters offer limited setup access once placed on talent, the SMWB and SMDWB support hands-free adjustment via audible tones and an IR port for fast frequency and parameter sync. A sleep mode conserves battery life during rehearsal while the unit is buried in costuming, and programmable compatibility modes ensure these transmitters integrate with a wide variety of Lectrosonics receivers across multiple product generations.
