The Lectrosonics SPDR is a compact stereo digital recorder engineered for production sound professionals who need reliable dual-channel capture in demanding field environments. Its machined aluminum chassis and microSDHC-based storage make it a practical choice for bag systems, plant mic deployments, VR sound captures, extreme sport rigs, and in-car recording setups where a wireless system is not practical or where full redundancy is required.

The SPDR integrates directly into professional signal chains through its Lectrosonics TA5M input, servo bias preamp compatible with 2V and 4V lavaliere microphones, and a switchable AES3 digital input on channel one for use with digital receivers and mixers. A 5-pin LEMO timecode input supports momentary jam sync, and the temperature-compensating TCXO oscillator holds free-running accuracy to better than 1 ppm across all operating temperatures, making it dependable across long recording days without drift. Files are written as Broadcast Wave Format with iXML metadata, integrating cleanly into post-production workflows without conversion.

Power management is built for all-day production use. An external DC input with automatic internal battery switchover keeps recording running if bag power drops, and AA batteries alone provide over 20 hours of operation. Tactile button feedback and Dweedle tone commands via the PDRRemote app allow eyes-off operation, and a high-quality headphone output supports real-time monitoring. Paired with the SRC receiver and a small mixer, the SPDR delivers a complete redundant interview rig that fits inside a fanny pack.
